Here’s a short video I made from footage I shot during my first GoPro NY Meetup event “Extreme Tourism“. It features Michael, Jason and Nelson tricking for the camera. I never knew about tricking until I met these guys. It’s a combination of martial arts and gymnastics and seems to have some close relationship to modern breakdancing. Music by Ethan Frederick Greene.
I recently purchased an underwater housing for my MicroPro LED light. I wanted to test this with the new GoPro Hero3. This is footage from the Black and White models. The evening shots of me (pre-shave and pre-haircut) are on the White at 60fps. The other shots are on the Black at 120fps. The light is noticeable in the darker shots and does brighten up the face in daylight when held close enough.
I started a Meetup group for GoPro camera enthusiasts in NYC. We got together 10/24/2012 for our first meetup called “Extreme Tourism”. We had a blast. Here’s a video we shot together.
You can read more about the Meetup group and this event here.
The video above was shot on Hero1 and Hero2 cameras. I learned that shooting with the new ProTune feature the bitrate of the video is much higher and the colors more flat. The higher bitrate seemed to require more processing power and slowed editing down a bit.
Highlights of this event include Charging Bull (Downtown), Guy in a Gorilla Suit, Brooklyn Bridge ,Quad Copter on the High Line (Meat Packing), Columbus Circle, Central Park, Trickers, Top of the Rock
